Fitness Friday: Workout at HOME!

by Nicole on February 17, 2012

Happy FRIDAY!

Today is a BIG day for us! We are FINALLY closing on our Queens co-op. We’ve been waiting for this for um…months. Needless to say, we’re basically jumping up and down…quite literally.

Before I head into the city to meet Danny for closing, I’ll be getting some type of workout in. I also have some work to do at home before so it’s going to be an at home workout. I started looking around to see what I can do at home and I found so many fun workouts.

I figured why not share? Getting exercise in, doesn’t have to mean going to the gym. You can get an amazing workout in AT HOME. And it doesn’t have to be hours long. Fit it in where you can, 10, 20, 30 minutes. Make it work!

It’s Februrary 17th, you’re over 6 weeks into your New Years resolutions. I’m hoping that your healthy eating is going well and so is your exercising. BUT if your workouts at lacking but consider this your wake up call!

Stop the excuses (I don’t have time, gym is too expensive, don’t have equipment, etc) and get it going. A little bit each day is all you need. Build on that! Build on making a HEALTHIER you!

Set goals. Walk 15 minutes a day. Workout 3 times a week. Try a new workout. Whatever it may be. Set it and write it down. Look at it everyday. And in the mean time, go through these workouts! They are amazing and all made by amazingly qualified trainers who are giving you FREE workouts. No more excuses. Get it done! Ya gotta start somewhere…so pick one and GO.

Speaking of goals…I have them too! My goal of next week is to take a spin class! I MISS it. But I never remember to sign up beforehand so I’m going to just DO IT.

Fit in Heels 23 Minute Tabata workout! This looks like a killer workout! (Tabata means basically go nuts for 20 seconds, rest for 10)

Tina’s Medicine Ball workout – Tina has SO many amazing workouts. They will ALL kick your butt.  This has a video and a chart you can print out. Yes, she does rock.

If you’re looking for a workout to do with a partner, then check out Lindsey’s List for her special Tuesday Trainer edition.

Another great workout is by Cassie of Pop Pilates. She has a ton of incredible workouts that you can also do in your living room, or basement. Check out this lean legs workout.

Bex’s Ultimate Core HIIT workout: Enough said. Get your butt kicked along with Bex!

AND last, but not link of the day Zuzana Light’s workout of the week. Always a favorite.

If you’d like to read about the benefits of HIIT training, check out Laury’s post. I LOVE HIIT.

With all these amazing FREE workouts…what are you waiting for?! Go get your workout on!

I’ll let you know which one I end up doing!

Do you have a favorite at home workout?

I love posts about workouts you can do at home. I hate the idea that you have to have fancy equipment and expensive gym memberships to be fit. It’s so not true! great post

I like the original Spartacus (not the 2.0) workout. I can’t find the original Men’s Health link, but GoTheXtraMile has it here: http://www.gothextramileblog.com/2011/11/17/total-body-circuit-workout/
