Weekend Snapshots!

Morning!

How was your weekend? Ours was a whirlwind, but in the best kind of way. We went down to Philly for the day on Saturday to walk around, have lunch and just hang out.

lunch at DiBruno brothers & dessert at Scoop deVille!

Kelly Drive

Sunday we went for a nice walk on the boardwalk in the morning, did house things all day and then went to an amazing, amazing dinner at Del Posto in the city.

I can’t decided who is nesting more, my mom or myself. My mom and stepdad came over during the day yesterday and helped us get done a WHOLE bunch of stuff. We hung curtains in baby’s room and our room (which I bought um…maybe 5 months ago for our room), hung up pictures, put closet door up and just overall straightened up. I also went through my closet and got rid of a bag of clothes. It felt SO good to get things in order. I can’t wait until it’s done, but it’s certainly getting there.

I was pretty tired after our walk and working on the house for hours, although admitedly I always do the least amount of work. I was kind of not feeling dinner, but we had reservations so we didn’t want to break them. I’m SO glad we didn’t. The entire meal was absolutely incredible and probably the nicest dinner we’ve ever been to.

We went with the 5 course selection. First they brought us a special plate from the chef with an amazing pulled pork sandwich, creamed spinach and rice balls. Then Danny and I decided to get the special heirloom tomato dish to start.  Next we had insalata primavera, then the risotto, 100 layer lasagna and I had the lobster and Danny had the pork trio. Everything was unbelievable. Especially the bread basket. For dessert I had the fruit crostatta and Danny had the chocolate ricotta tortino. They also brought us a special strawberry gelato dish since we were celebrating our anniversary AND Danny’s birthday.

Del Posto was quite the experience. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I loved that every dish was a perfect amount of food, not too much. I probably ended up only having 4 bites of every dish because I was so stuffed…and kind of filled up on bread from the start. Oops. It is a pricey restaurant, but for a very special occasion, it’s worth it!

We aren’t going to be able to take a vacation before baby with all the work and house things we have to do, so it was nice to be able to take a weekend and just spend it the two of us.

So now that you know about my weekend...tell me about yours! What did you do?

Also: Good luck to my sister today AND to my cousin Jess who has her first day with kids at school! I know you’ll both be amazing!

I’m taking some time off today and going to hang out with friends. Shh, don’t tell.

OMG!! YAY! You don’t know how much seeing my name on here just changed my morning. It just took me an hour to get AJ to nap and I came down to the family room in the worst mood! LOL.

So glad that you guys were able to celebrate the special events – happy Birthday to your hubs and happy anniversary!! I know you wanted to plan a little vacation before Baby C is born…but maybe think about planning one for when he/she is like 6 mo old…That’s what we are thinking about doing. We feel like we will really have something to look forward to then!!!!
