Health Articles of the Week!

by Nicole on September 22, 2012

Morning! Happy Saturday! I’m looking forward to a very relaxing, relaxing weekend. Hopefully we are going to go apple picking and then celebrate my sister’s 23rd birthday tomorrow (it’s her golden birthday!!)

Thursday night we went to the dress rehearsal of the Saturday Night Live primetime special. It was so fun/funny. It was a nice random date night in the middle of the week. Trying to take advantage of the next couple of baby-less weeks!

This weekend I thought I would share my favorite articles and blogs that I found during the week. I have been very intrigued about all the news revolving around concussions and football, so that kind of got me surfing around the web across Time, Huffington Post and New York Times.

Dying to Play: About the dangers of football. From the New York Times.

It’s O.K. To Let Babies Cry It Out At Bedtime: from Time Healthland: Basically says a study found no significant difference in babies that were taught to cry it out or not.

How to Cross Train: 5 Alternative Workouts for Runners: From Time Healthland

Is Organic Food Healthier: from Huffington Post: I know, more on this topic, but I find it so interesting I thought you would too. If you read my response to the study, it’s basically along the same lines.

Avoiding Sugared Drinks Limits Weight Gain in Two Studies New York Times Health: Study suggests sugary drinks are a good place to start to help combat the obesity epidemic.

Arsenic in Rice: Consumer Groups Pressure FDA to Set Standards: from Huffington Post Healthy Living: There are no federal standards for how much arsenic is allowed in our food. Consumer reports and FDA’s analysis found roughly equivalent to one gram of arsenic in 115,000 servings of rice.

There were SO many good articles I read this week, but these were my favorites.

What was the best thing you read this week?

Have a great weekend!
