Fashion’s Night Out

by Nicole on September 15, 2010

Hellooo, I’m glad you all enjoyed my giveaway, it was a lot of fun for my to host, especially since I’m basically obsessed with the 4 dvds right now. I did Bob’s Workout this morning and am already sore not even 24 hours later. I appreciate a really tough workout dvd, is that weird?

I figured I’d catch you up on my busy life. Thank you for being so patient while I find balance. It’s been tough, but I have so much going on that I’m trying to squeeze everything into the week, food shopping, cleaning the apartment, working out, cooking, baking, watching my dvr, so something has to give. I have lots of events coming up on weekends with weddings, birthdays etc, I need to prioritize.

Over the long weekend last weekend I did some fun stuff, at least it’s fun to me. Two of my friends just moved to Astoria. I stopped in, brought them some muffin tops and we walked around for a little. They took me to the park near them that’s gorgeous…I mean look at that skyline…

After that I went home and drove into the city for Fashion’s Night Out. Did anyone watch the hour special on CBS on Fashion’s Night Out? It makes me so happy and inspired to watch and learn about different designers like Alexander Wang, Justin Timberlake, Diane Von Furstenberg and Tory Burch. They all have amazing stories of how they got where they are now. Going to Fashion’s Night Out was like being in the city on New Years Eve. Everything was packed! We didn’t go to too many stores, but we went to Tory Burch, JCREW, stopped in some and tried to go to the Piperlime pop up store in Soho, but it was madly packed. Oh well, I’d have to meet Rachel Zoe another time.

Tory Burch and Kerry Washington

Fashion gets me so giddy and happy. Standing next to Tory made my night, I wish I had said hello, but I get SO shy in those situations. The city came alive and all for a good reason, to support the fashion industry and all those who are involved in it. It makes me just want to go out and buy a really great bag….or shoes…or coat.

Have you met anyone famous or someone you looked up to? Did you say hi?

I have met a few famous people… but one of my favorite was meeting Abbe (owner and designer of Kooba bags). Her daughter was a student at the school I taught at a few years ago. I was in awe! My other favorite is Patricia Clarkson… we both live in the same neighborhood and have cute black dogs!

Ahh…Tory Burch. If I ever met her, I’d ask just WHY her adorable flats I can’t seem to ignore at Nordstrom’s are SO expensive???? Looks like a lovely night out – lucky girl!

Sounds like a lot of fun. I adore Rachel Roy and was lucky to meet her at an event she was at in Boston. She was so nice and of course, very fashionable!
