Wedding Festivities!

by Nicole on August 8, 2010

I know, I know. I’ve been M.I.A. AGAIN. I was involved in a lot of wedding festivities last week for one of my friends from college and I just couldn’t add blogging to the juggle of things. I wanted to share some gorgeous photos of the wedding, bride, groom, venue and everything else before I crash.  I am SUPER tired and haven’t slept more than 5-6 hours since Wednesday night.

Thursday:
Went to Intensati in the city, which I need to blog more about on another day. I went to a class that was instructed by Patricia Moreno, the creator of Intensati. I walked out blown away, again, and it makes me want to do it every week. (LX New York was there with Maria Sansone filming a segment!)
I also had my friend’s rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Thursday. I went from the city, home to Queens to get my car and shower and then to Long Island to do my nails and last minute wedding things before the rehearsal.

Friday:
I woke up early again to go to Soulcycle (bands class) for an hour long workout that kicked my butt like usual. I wanted to get in a good workout because I knew I’d be indulging and drinking all weekend. I took the LIRR (double decker!!) into the city and back out to Long Island after the class. I met up with the bride and some friends at the beach and then went back to my mom’s to shower and pick up more friends  (from college) from the train to go to dinner and then meet everyone at the Marriot where everyone was staying.

Saturday:
Early wake up again, I woke up at 7 am and Danny and I went for about a 5 mile run before I had to get ready for the wedding. My friend Lauren stayed at my mom’s with us and worked magic on my hair and makeup. We went over to Meg’s house around noon to get dressed and then went to the church where they had an amazingly touching ceremony. Everything was perfect and went off without a hitch. We took 2 limos (and started with the champagne) to the Crescent Beach Club after where we took pictures, celebrated, drank and ate. The thing I appreciated most about this place, besides it’s beauty was the fact we had an hour alone where we were served the food from the cocktail hour before anyone gets there. That was amazing, especially for the bride and groom because they never have time to eat.
We had a long (but too short) day and night or drinking, eating, dancing, laughing, celebrating and just loving life. It was an amazing party and the fun didn’t stop until I passed out on my couch at 3 p.m. today.

I had many glasses of champagne (3 on the limo ride over to the Crescent beach club) and way too many to count vodka seltzers (my drink of choice). Notice the progression of silliness in the pictures…how can being with friends at such a happy occasion not be fun???
As Averie was saying on her blog, it’s important to show that we are real people and aren’t perfect. I enjoyed eating lots of food and indulging in everything from bread, to the taco station to cheeses to dessert and many drinks. Weddings are a time to have fun and indulge not hold back. Which was why I really enjoy my bagel, eggs, potatoes and chocolate chip muffin also this morning at brunch.

Meg and Rob thank you for letting us share in your special wedding weekend!

Back on track tomorrow!
