Operation: Send Husband to Food Store

by Nicole on May 27, 2011

Happy Friday! and Happy 3 Day Weekend!

I LOVE Memorial Day weekend! It makes me so happy!

Today we are having a picnic at school to celebrate Memorial Day.  My class is bringing in healthy snacks of fruits and vegetables. We told them no Doritos or any junk. We try not to ever let them go crazy with the junk/high sugar food, but we are really curbing it today.  I was actually very pleased because they were very excited to pick out the fruits and veggies they’d bring in. There was mention of mangos…which I LOVE, but never buy for some reason.

I made a Jello festive flag. No, it’s not the healthiest, but it’s fun and it’s far from the worst thing out there. How cute is it?

After school, Danny is picking me up and we are going right to the Jersey shore. I can’t wait to spend the weekend there and breathe in the ocean air!

Since we are leaving right after school, I had to do the unthinkable: send my husband to the food store…alone. I know, scary right? Tell me I’m not alone here…

Operation Send Husband To Food Store:

I not only typed it, but I categorized and numbered it based on what sections he should go to first. You may think it’s overkill….but trust me, it’s not. I also will have to be available via text message incase of any mishaps.

Have a wonderful 3 day weekend!!

My husband would have killed me if I sent him with that list. He knows the store well enough, but I get about 20 calls from him while he is there for about 5 things on the list. Have a great weekend Nicole!

Aww, such a cute flag dessert!

Also, your very specific instructions are so the way to go! When we first got married, we always grocery shopped together so he knew where everything was and which brands we bought, etc. Well, since we bought a second car 2 years ago I’ve done most of the grocery shopping ’cause I enjoy it. But on the rare occasion I send him out for something, I never think to be super detailed about what I want because I just assume that he is aware of which specific item I want. I pretty much always get a call or txt within 5 minutes of him arriving to the store. ;) So anyway, I agree that specific instructions are good!
