Fitness Friday!

by Nicole on March 16, 2012

Morning and Happy Happy FRIDAY!!

Yesterday’s school event was a huge success! The kids LOVED the chocolate chip muffins I made them. It was adorable as they asked for 2nds, 3rds and 4ths. What I also loved is that Chobani donated 300 cups of Chobani Champions to their nutrition day as well. I contacted them to see if they would be interested and they were. They also sent over coupons and information sheets. Chobani is SO generous. The kids were slurping up every last bite and asking for more. I would say the overall favorite was the berry flavor, but they were all hits, honestly.

I WISH I could have taken pictures of the kids, but there’s that whole legal component there. So instead I just got a picture of the plates instead. I love how they had all different food groups represented with healthy options. I was so happy to see kids enjoyed everything…especially the edamame! It’s so important to teach kids about nutrition and nutritious foods from a young age. I am so happy I was able to be a part of this special day!

A HUGE thank you to Chobani for contributing as well!

A little switch here:

You know I love my fitness here. While yesterday was an unplanned rest day because I was swamped, I am heading to the gym after I eat breakfast this morning. After reading my favorite blogs this week, I wanted to share my favorite fitness posts from the week! You know I love trying out new workouts and I figure you do too! (If not, just pretend!)

Fitness Friday:

What is better than finding FREE workouts that give you a crazy burn? Not much I tell ya!

Also if you want something else to read, check out Chevrolet VP learning from SXSW and talking about working with Kelly Olexa and FitFluential!

I’m off to eat breakfast and head out for a run! Have a fab FRIDAY!

What a great event that was for the kids! I want to get involved in more stuff like that in my community too! I went to the high school yesterday with Jay and hated seeing vending machines of junk food and cokes first thing when you walk in the school. UGH! So frustrating.

Have a great weekend Nicole!

So great that you were in the schools shedding some nutrition know-how. I go in to have lunch with my kiddos at their school now and then and it is so depressing to see what some kids eat!

Enjoy the workout!

What a fun event for the kids. I just tried Chobani for the first time a few weeks ago and now I have both of my sisters and mom eating it too. I love it. :)

This certainly was a success! Cole, thank you so much for providing my students with this opportunity to gain new favorites in their healthy food belt. They loved this tasting and plan on asking their parents to buy these foods the next time they go food shopping. When prepping those students who were hesitant about trying new foods, I told them that they have to take a little nibble. If they didn’t like it, they could say “I tried it, but it’s not my favorite.” If they liked it, they could say “II tried it and I love it!” It was awesome to see some students overcome their doubts and love the food in front of them. Thank you to Chobani too!
