Homemade Raw Almond Butter!

by Nicole on March 9, 2012

Happy Friday!!

This weekend we’re having our first floor painting party! I’m SO excited for this because it means I can FINALLY decorate my walls AND get rid of the ugly green color I’ve been staring at since September. Then it’s just order the tile backsplash and the kitchen will be done. Woot!

I know, all things home….which between that and Pure Bliss, is all on my mind these days!

Well, food too. Always food. I’ve been playing around with making my own nut butter. I think I need to invest in a new food processor, the amount I’ve made nut butters.

Homemade nut butter is FAR superior to jared versions. Seriously. If I didn’t feel bad for my food processor, I’d make this more than once a month.

Have you made your own nut butter before?

What are you doing to make today count? I’ll be watching some TV on the elliptical and doing a little shoulder weights session.

Happy Friday! Enjoy the day!

I’m pretty sure “making homemade nut butter” is on my Top 5 favorite activities list.

I’m also pretty sure that makes me slightly abnormal. :)

I don’t make it at home (yet), but I get the fresh ground stuff at Whole Foods – the ones that you make and put into the plastic containers right there. Close enough, right?! :)

My food pro is my mother’s from when she got married 32 years ago. It wouldn’t hold up to crushing all those almonds!! Yours looks great though!

I made nut butter once before but I don’t have a real food processor so it was this odd chunky, congealed mess but it was DELICIOUS!

Just started making my own almond butter. I was a little intimidated even with the Vitamix but it’s working out fine, and only takes a minute or two.
