La Minervetta in Sorrento! and back in NY!

by Nicole on April 26, 2011

I know, I know, I left you hanging. After Capri, we went to Sorrento and then back to Rome to continue our fabulous Italian vacation.

We didn’t have free Wifi in Sorrento, but we did buy 1 day of internet, but I just didn’t have “time” to post. By not having time, I mean I was busy laying out in the sun and walking to eat lots of pasta with clams.

Danny and I stayed at La Minervetta in Sorrento. It was our favorite hotel we stayed in, although each one was incredible. I plan on doing a post about the hotels, because they were all incredible, friendly, luxurious and beyond amazing. We stayed in room 3, which had basically windows every where. Breathtaking. They also put our a wonderful breakfast spread in the morning, the best one out of all of the hotels.

Easter Morning!

chocolate chip bread...amazing

Sorrento was beautiful and we took full advantage by going for a walk to see the coastline. It wasn’t as grueling as the other walks, but it was just as beautiful. The whole time we were there, we just kept saying how we couldn’t believe we were there.

For dinner we went to a local restaurant, Delfino’s where we had fried calamari and I had spaghetti with clams…best meal I’ve had…maybe ever? I cleaned my plate.

Final Italian Thoughts:

Now we are back in New York and I’m nauseous thinking about eating bread or cheese. I indulged everyday in Italy, and truly ate whatever I wanted. It was the best week I’ve had since our wedding…I think even better than our honeymoon. I am certainly ready to get back to my usual and normal eating. I felt like even though I enjoyed every.single.bite of food, I did feel more tired from all the white flour and sugar. So lots of veggies, fruits and superfoods here I come!

I feel like I have a great perspective on life right now. I need to do what I truly love in life and stop wasting time not doing what I love. I know that’s vague, but for now that’s all I’ll say.  Life is too short, not to be happy every single day.

Ciao! Now it’s back to reality!
