Long Weekend in Review!

by Nicole on November 27, 2011

Hi everyone!

I’m back! I skipped out on you to focus on real life for awhile. I’ve been extra thankful for the time I got to spend with my family. I’m sure by now you’ve all seen posts about lots of food and how thankful everyone is….but isn’t that what this time is all about?

I hope you got to get in some good quality time with the people you care about most. I know I loved having my husband off of work for a couple of days in a row and same with my sister & rest of family.

Wednesday we went into the city and saw the Radio City Christmas show and then saw the Macy’s Day parade balloons. It’s our second time doing it, but was definitely more fun doing it with kids.

Thursday, like everyone else, we celebrated with too much food. I enjoyed everything I ate, especially stuffing, mashed potatoes and turkey. The turkey usually isn’t my favorite thing, but it came out delicious this year.

I made two desserts, a pumpkin cheesecake, which I’ll share the recipe with you tomorrow and pecan pumpkin brownie cupcakes. I made those before, but this time I just made them into cupcake form. Cuter, I think, but I do think the pie is more moist.

After quite a few days of leftovers and indulgence I’m ready to get back to normal eating…until my birthday! :) I did sneak in 2 runs and some weights over the long weekend. I didn’t give up on my normal workout routine especially since I knew I’d be eating more. I don’t really believe in doing “extra” workouts, most of the time, I just believe in getting moving and eating semi responsibly.

I’m off to yoga to get a good sweat & stretch on!
