Green Smoothie with Kale and Vega Protein!

by Nicole on January 10, 2012

Morning!

How is week 2 of 2012 going for you? Are you still committed to those New Year’s resolutions? If you fell off the wagon over the weekend take time today to recommit to them and get back on the wagon. I’m still working on drinking 3 water bottles a day, no chocolate eating & amping up my protein! I fell off the chocolate wagon over the weekend, but yesterday I went back to it. It’s okay to have little slip ups if you have the end goal in mind.

In order to help me get more protein I’ve been having a green protein smoothie a couple times a week. I make my green smoothie with kale or spinach. Whatever I have on hand. I also use a protein powder and for this vlog I used Vega. Great way to get in extra protein and it’s delicious!

Hope you like the smoothie ‘stache! Way better than a milk mustache, I think! :)
I’m off to get a run in, either on the treadmill or outside. If you make a green smoothie this week be sure to give me a shout!

Have a great day!

I saw this on the Vega Facebook site this morning – great job! I love green smoothies and just tried Vega Protein for the first time this weekend – great stuff. I haven’t seen Acai Berries like that before, I’ll have to keep a look-out.

Loved the video! Cute smoothie ‘stache.

I had a green smoothie last week and I’m thinking I’ll go make one now. I have to get rid of the spinach before I travel this weekend so we’ll see how my blueberry green smoothie turns out!

Question – what kind of blender do you use? I need a new one that will make spinach or greens smooth and not chunky!

my goal was to spend less on coffee out. Hmmm. I’m a big, fat, failboat on that one.

Hi I love your videos and will definitely have to try this one! One thing I am having trouble understanding is in reference to your about page and how you choose to include ‘fish’ in your well balanced plant based diet? It would seem that if you follow a plant based diet you would be avoiding all types of meat and flesh so wondering why the fish? Fish and other sea life are no different than farm animals when it comes to slaughter.
