Pregnancy Update: 31 weeks!

by Nicole on August 17, 2012

What’s new this week? I literally cannot believe how fast and yet, slow this is pregnancy is going. I’m trying to take in every moment and relax every chance I get.

This week in rambles:

It’s amazing how not pregnant and hugely pregnant I can feel in one day. I can get pretty uncomfortable at night time.

The baby just moves all the time now. She/he is getting bigger and sometimes feel like she/he is crushing my organs.

With the movement comes the fact..baby bellies are NOT always round. Mine is mostly lopsided when I sit down.

Baby has hiccups almost daily, sometimes 2x a day.

I’ve been up for atleast an hour every night. I plan on getting up early but then I can’t because I’m up for 1-2 hours a night and I’m sleepy.

My belly has starting getting in the way when I sit at the table to eat.

I’m shocked at how many broken blood cappilaries/vessels I have on my chest and face. I’m hoping they’ll go away after baby.

Baby C now has onesies from Shelter Island, Providence College, Boston College, Penn State, South Carolina, Block Island, Disneyworld and NYC. This doesn’t even include the onesies that say Italian, 1/2 italian/1/2 irish, irish, fitfluential and things about grandmas and grandpas. Can you take it? So grateful to my family and friends.

This pregnancy and baby has turned my husband into a complete mush. It’s adorable..but sometimes I have to tell him to get a grip…in the nicest way possible. :) He also is LOVING the book “The Baby Whisperer”. He’s all ready to get this baby on a schedule with sleeping and eating…and quiet time. (We KNOW that things don’t go as planned…but it’s still fun to read and prepare.)

I pretty much have given up on ever wanting to eat dinner until baby is here. I force down some type of meal but this week they have consisted of: quesadillas, egg drop soup & brown rice, pasta PLUS primavera and who knows what else. Do you see the theme? Carbs.

I’m SO giddy with the fact that I’ll be able to (hopefully) wear normal clothes (later) this fall.

I know I said I had a feeling what this baby is. And I still do. It just changes multiple times a day.

I’m pretty excited about our maternity photoshoot. What will I wear?!

Anything else you’d like to know?

Favorite things to do right now: Look on instagram at my feed and see all the beautiful babies that have been born recently. Watch my belly move, even though it’s not always the most comfortable. Lay in bed at night thinking of what this baby will look like. (I picture big, big brown eyes and a head full of hair!) Get pedicures. (I do this about once a month, but wish I could do this weekly!!) Spend time with friends because although I know they will all still be there, it won’t be the same!

Don’t forget to fill out our baby survey! I’m really enjoying seeing what all of you think!

Also enter to win a $25 VISA giftcard!

I’m off for a walk! Enjoy the day!

Pregnancy is probably the most amazing thing to ever happen. It’s crazy how different the babies are in womb too! My belly was always lopsided with Jay. He used to push his butt or feet out and just leave them there. I would push back and then he would push right back into the same resting position. He won out on that. Max was a head-butter (weird to spell out) and would ram his head into my groin. Yeah, good times. As a toddler, when he got frustrated, he still did that. Thanks for sharing your experience with pregnancy…it’s nice for me to take a stroll down memory lane…

Have a great weekend Nicole!

My husband called me “ripley” when I was pregnant, because he was sure that the baby was going to pop out “alien” style, due to the lopsidedness.

That’s so funny about picturing what the baby will look like. We didn’t find out the gender when I was pregnant last year but my husband and I always joked that whether its a boy or girl she/he would be a swarthy little things. We are both very dark haired, dark eyed, and darker complected. While she does have a dark complection at 10 months old she has the bluest eyes and blonde hair! I loved being pregnant and of course the baby is even better! Good luck in the home stretch!

Haha…I remember my bump getting lumpy like that too! So funny. Glad you had a good week, Nicole– I can’t wait to see pics from your maternity photoshoot!

Funny, my wife and I were telling our kids how we watched them moving in her belly just this evening at dinner. This is an amazing time. Enjoy every moment.

Just seeing this now =) =) =) Baby C will slowly stop moving as much – I’m at the point now where I occasionally feel Pumpkin – he/she is so big (5 1/2 pounds) that there isn’t nearly enough room to be as mobile (yay!)…But I’m with you on the distorted belly – mine is almost never round these days – LOL
You look fabulous – I hope the next 9 weeks go by as fast and as comfortably as possible!!! xoxo

I’m SO happy I have someone to relate to haha. My belly can be so lopsided sometimes and I think it’s hilarious! Also, cannot wait to get back to ‘normal’ things as well…running in particular. I hope I remember what running feels like before baby! I also feel small and huge on the same day, too. I feel huge right now ;)

We are so behind with getting stuff for the baby though. I should probably turn that into a priority ASAP! You are looking super cute!!
