Thursday Thoughts

by Nicole on November 21, 2013

Hi all!

This week has been crawling and flying at the same time. How is that possible?

This is going to be a random post…

  • Soo…this week. Liv had a very random sleep situation this past weekend and start of the week. She missed 2 naps because we were busy and didn’t feel like napping when we got home. Then she had 2 in the middle of the night wake ups, which basically don’t happen around here. I’m blaming it on teeth. Danny and I were both zombies for 2 days.
  • I made steel cut oats for the FIRST time this week. I don’t know what I was waiting for! Now I need to put them in the slow cooker. I made pumpkin steel cut oats using this recipe. I just x4 and added 1/3 cup turbinado sugar. Oh I also used 3 cups water, 1 cup almond milk instead of all almond milk. I boiled the liquid first, then stirred in remaining ingredients. Let it cook on med-high for about 6 minutes and then simmered for 25 minutes.
  • I need to get these pjs for Liv.
  • I’m hosting Thanksgiving and I’m having way too much fun thinking about my table. Check out some of the ideas on my Pinterest board.
  • This made me laugh. Are you ready to have babies yet? Take the test.
  • Being a parent is so strange. We continue to have a picky eater that takes 99% of my patience daily. Olivia will do everything she can to avoid meals 80% of the time. We’re trying a new ignore tactic because she seems to eat more when we don’t pay any attention to her. I can’t help but laugh when you put something on her tray (like last night, a meatball for example) and she picks it up and in one swoop it’s on the ground halfway across the kitchen. Atleast I turn my head and silently laugh?
  • Trader Joe’s candy cane green tea is BACK and I’m enjoying it daily. Need to stock up!

I’m doing Elf for Health too! I like the challenges (except for the 100 burpee one, I’m gonna go do a few burpees right now so that those might not hurt quite as bad!) P.S. that link to the PJ’ says they are OUT OF STOCK! It won’t even show a picture of them! I bet they are ridiculously cute :)
