Last Day at Los Altos!

by Nicole on April 3, 2010

Good morning! Happy Easter Weekend to those of you who celebrate. I’m up and no one else is, except the staff again. I just seem to wake up super early here (5:50) and be ready to go. I decided to come out of my room and do some blogging, while having a cup of coffee. I’m listening to the howler monkeys (which sound like a mix between a dog and what I would think a warthog would sound like).

I am going to miss this place, it was such an amazing, wonderful experience. We met 2 other couples that we really enjoyed spending our time with. At Los Altos you eat breakfast and lunch together family style around a gorgeous teak wood table. Conversation just flowed easily and we got to know each other very quickly since we basically spent all our time together (but not too much). We still had our privacy when wanted but it was so nice to share our vacation with other people as well.

The food here is incredible, maybe the best I’ve ever had. Everything is made from scratch and fresh as anything!!

That is shrimp mixed in with guacamole in the avocado shell. AMAZING, I have to do this at home!

I did yoga 3x this week and doing it one more before we get on our long place ride. I loved it, but how could you not, doing it in this setting?

We did end up going out to dinner two times in Tamarindo. It was great, but I still think the food was better at Los Altos!

I am off to do some yoga and maybe go for a short hilly walk. Then one last breakfast and stint in the sun before it’s off to San Jose, then Panama City then New York!

See you soon!

omg that just looks so awesome…i was in nosara when i was there, about an hour south of jaco, not that far from tamarindo actually.

howler monkeys used to hurl their ummm waste at my palapa when they were mad and wanted the humans to come out and feed them. serious!

girl what a great trip, i hope it was as awesome as the pics look!
