New New Favorite Finds (Kitchen Edition)

by Nicole on September 22, 2011

I got up at 5:30 this morning to respond to emails and take my last Integrative Nutrition test. Okay, really 5:50, I couldn’t pry myself out of bed. It’s HARD getting up early, says the girl who used to get up at 5, multiple times a week.

I’m mostly done with emails and I passed the test (woohoo!) so now it’s time to blog, workout and then off to a day full of clients.

With all the new things I’ve bought for the house, I want to share with you my new favorite things. I’ve done it before, with sharing frivolous kitchen tools, but it’s been awhile.

Maybe some of your have these things and I’m late to the game, but still, why not share the fun with those who don’t?

1. Slipat. This changed my life. No more wax paper waste with all of the granola I make. This is heat resistant and I want 85 of them (ok, the only thing I want 85 of is Lululemon pants…) but I’d gladly take 2 or 3 more.

2. Non slip mixing bowls from William Sonoma. These are the best things I didn’t know I needed. I went to the outlet with a very handy GC from a very good pal and fell in love. I know, my feelings are strong for things like mixing bowls, but you just can’t stop love.

3. Oil Mist. I use a lot of non stick spray and I hate that there are fake things in the bottle of non-stick spray. This mister is now my go to. I’m never buying a non-stick spray again (I don’t think.)

4. Contigo Water Bottle. I was a head over heels Camel Bak supporter until Janetha told me about Contigo. These things NEVER spill. I can throw in in my car or bag and not worry about it leaking. Major win all around.

5. Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. I know this isn’t a kitchen item, but I’m so in love with these, why not share? While you’re at it, you might as well add the honey mango shaving cream. They smell SO good.

I think I just spent $100 of your dollars, so I’ll stop here for now. I won’t wait 9 months to do another one of these, I promise.

Hopefully getting out for a run now. If not it’s treadmill for me!

Have a great day!

I have one silpat sheet, and I LOVE it. I’m obsessed with baking on it….I should probably ask for another for Christmas :-)

I’ve heard a lot about Silpat, but never used it. I don’t really use wax paper very often though, is that what it is most used to replace or are there other uses? The Trader Joe products sound interesting – I’ll have to look more into those. Do you know if they are they animal-product & animal-testing free?

I did some googling and it looks like they are vegan-friendly – no animal testing and no animal products. I’m almost out of shampoo, so I’ll pick some up! :)

I have yet to get a silpat mat, even though I don’t bake that often, I want one. :)
