EAT THIS NOW!

With all of this prevention talk, I thought I would blog about fall superfoods. (Superfoods are foods that are considered a great health benefit, like blueberries for example.) These are fall vegetables and fruits that are seasonally available at farms now (which means cheaper prices).
Let's check them out!
Bartlett Pears - filled with vitamin C and fiber.
Beets - fights off anemia and possible lung cancer (yay!)
Butternut Squash - keeps your skin smooth and eyes sharp (you can make these great butternut squash fries)
Cranberry beans - filled with iron and potassium
Apples - prevent breast cancer (yahoo!) Eat these raw or throw 'em in the oven and bake them with a tiny bit of sugar and cinnamon!
Kale - filled with vitamin A
Brussel sprouts - cook these with a little olive oil and roast at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes and they WILL be tasy!
Thanks to SELF magazine for providing us with these fall superfoods!

oooh didn't know these were all considered superfoods! Maybe I'll experiment w/ a recipe that combines a few of these together since I already love and use them!
